About tromsoskiing.com
tromsoskiing.com is an independent guide to the guided skiing you can book in Tromsø, Norway: cross-country courses, backcountry trips, ski touring and a family session with mini skis. This page explains who runs it, how it is financed and where the data comes from.
Who is behind this site
tromsoskiing.com is run by Patrick Kühne, an independent travel publisher based in Markkleeberg near Leipzig, Germany. He builds and maintains a small portfolio of guides to attraction tickets and day tours. There is no agency and no rotating editorial team behind this site: the pages are researched, written and kept up to date by one person, the same one who answers the e-mails.
What this site does
Skiing in Tromsø can mean a first lesson on the trails of Tromsøya, a backcountry trip on wide skis on Kvaløya, an evening ski tour with a headlamp or sledding with children. We describe what separates the options: the skill level the operator asks for, the minimum age, what you can borrow and what you need to bring, and where you meet. We are not a booking agent; every reservation happens on the booking platform.
How we earn money
When you book through one of our links, the platform pays us a commission. Your price stays the same: the commission comes out of the platform’s margin, not your pocket. No contract obliges us to favour a particular operator, and our comparisons are ordered by number of reviews, not by what pays us best.
Where our data comes from
Prices, ratings and review counts are pulled from our booking partners’ APIs and refreshed automatically several times a day. Skill levels, minimum ages, inclusions and meeting points come from the operators’ product pages, checked in October 2026. Where a listing says nothing, we write “not stated” instead of guessing. Found something out of date? Write to us and we will correct it.
What we are not
We do not run any courses or tours and we are not affiliated with any operator mentioned on this site. Snow, weather and avalanche conditions are outside anyone’s control. For binding information on cancellations, snow conditions and meeting times, the operator’s own channels always take precedence.
